Move

It's 64 days away - we found a house, put a deposit on it. The rental comes available to us 4/15. I think tax day is an ominous day anyway.

Dh is planning on driving a load of our stuff up there and leaving the Blazer - its been paid off now.

Small 3bd house with an acre and a half yard. Something that would go for $600k out here is a new purchase for our landlord at $185K - and I think that's high for the area. Anyway, looks like we actually have to get rid of some of the freecycle things we have. Not a lot of room - plus the bunk beds for the boys have to go.

Will be a nice move...

Should I even look into this?

I had a thought this morning when I woke.

Should I look into my 20th class reunion and see if there is one going on this year?

All of us are traveling to WA in July wondering if I should look into it. Not like they don't know where my parents are...although, that didn't work for my 10year. My Step-Dad was the mayor for pete's sake and the word with they 'couldn't find me' - duh, the didn't have to look to hard.

Waste of time methinks but I am looking for a reason to pursue...

Laptop went T/U

Trying to function without the main laptop is funny...all of my avatars for a forum I use daily are on there...plus a bunch of docs. Trying to make sure there wasn't anything on there that wasn't backed up somewhere.

Got it...

Friday

this entire state shuts down if there is a hint of snow, and coupled with the winter storm warning thru tonight at 10pm, that's enough to make you crazy. Not only is school out across the state, but there is word of the clean up of a 30 car pile up on the 270/370 ramp. This is a busy part of the 270 corridor I have learned, but come on people - if you drive ike its winter, then these things don't happen. Makes me wonder why even bother?

today is belt exam

today is payday and we are broke already, bills and taxes take the bulk, so sad...have to see if someone wants to donate to the cause and pay the kids tuition for Co-Op this semester($70) plus all of their Tuesday fun trips - Chick-fil-A and Chuck E Cheese...only comes to around $35 a week.

Gotta get my donate button again for the paypal...lol!

anyway - off to shower, hope you all have a terrific weekend and do something fun!

Interest rate changes, one down, one up. Weirdness in the financial world.

I am here once again. Today is Bagels and library and shopping at Macy's for the boys.

Jakers has a belt exam tomorrow night - yellow to orange, wish I could have made it to the lessons this week but yesterday I was suffereing from the after-effects with a bad food bug of sorts. Feel fine now, strange how the body purges long after its gotten the 'bug' out of the system.

90days on the official move countdown. Can be a good thing, we are still looking for a home there to move into, but we are established on an area.

The email will be coming out soon, I have no idea how it will be handled by those getting it. Most likely, my family won't give a crap, as usual, and Dh's family will send multiple emails, inquiring and hoping for the best and making arrangements to visit blah blah blah...

This is where I really like having his family around.

now, coffee...

Hey, I'm alive...

Looking for a reason to give for my extended absence but I have none.

Busy, sick and just the general days work for a SAHM and working hubby with two kids in the mix somewhere.

We have recovered nicely from a various number of illnesses - started on Dec 1st and kept going and going. I am thinking, as is Dh, that this is due to the weirdness of the weather. The humidity goes up and down, the temp has gone to 14deg and as high as 73. We have delt with colds, reoccurring colds, bronchitis, pneumonia, kids verson of brochitis, flu and more colds. I think we are over the hump now but how often is it to be sick for months...

The move is on - in fact, there is 111days until it happens. The friends we have made out here are sad we are leaving, they are planning a party for us and I think it will be a sad thing when we finally leave. Bummer...

It's cold today - windy and freezing. Monday is mega-trash day - the pick up is trash, recycled sorted bins and the compost bag with the straggly xmas tree remnant. Pretty far behind the game. But better than last year - the xmas tree was taken care of in June...

More to come I hope later today...

Merry Day-After

I cannot say our day was anything but a fine one - in spite of all the crap surrounding it. The kids really enjoyed the gifts and the tree and playing with their new toys. Although we had no batteries so the Leapsters went unopened, they still had a great time.

Storytime with Dad at bedtime and an early bed for us all was nice.

I have full blown pink eye in my left eye. A headcold from the planet X and all the glory that goes with it.

The illness dampered all activities I wanted to accomplish before the Christmas day. Candy and cookie making, giving out to the neighbors and friends. Gifts for the friends and their kids. Going to see Messiah at CLC on Christmas Eve.

The house is the typical mess it should be after the festivities. I have a tree to water and needles to clean up. The usual...

Let's see if there is any hope for a 'normal' kind of day. Something other than the sickie filled world this had been since last week.

Have a great day...

Giant Spiders attack the Shuttle

Yeah - there ya go! Another reason to hate them...

Well, there's been a lot going on this week in the house. Mostly on the negative. We have all had some kind of Super Bug unleashed upon us by the CDC (located NOW in SS, MD) - too close now. All four of us have had an illness of major proportions. Finally settling on me now. For the last several days I have been unable to finish off the baking and buying here in the last few days before the Day of Infamy and Capitalism...Consummerism, whatever.

I would have been more interested in trying to add my meager 2 cents to the economy but its failing miserably without my money. Nice try...

To describe the illness is easy - its a combination of sore throat, congestion in the head and chest, cough, borderline ear-infection and pink eye.

Yummy. Its a Super Bug I tell ya...

So I'll just wish you all reading a Merry Christmas. Happy New Year. Enjoy your days off, drinks, food and gifts. Enjoy being with others and giving to those less fortunate than yourself.

Sometimes the littlest things make the biggest difference. I've taken to purchasing a few extra umbrellas from CVS or WW here and handing them out to those who would need one at a bus stop. Heck - they are $2.

Have a great week - I'll post when I can...

Happy Monday???

Bill Press is an idiot for saying so...

Finally fired up the Sirius radio this am. The morning sucks today as the wind blew loud and strong all friggin' night. Sounded like a damn train.

Donuts has the cough and the fever most of the rest of the house had. Dh cannot seem to get any better for more than a day. He might be suffering from a walking-pnuemonia of sorts. The cough is bad bad bad and non-productive.
Donuts cough is bad and caused him to puke at the dinner table last night. Jakers refused to eat anything put in front of him and was subsequently sent to bed. Both boys, pretty much the whole house, went to bed by 745 and was asleep by 8pm. Tired of being sick.

Except me of course - no sleep for me until a more 'reasonable' bedtime - i.e. 10ish. But up early just the same...

Another trip to Maine this week. Another four days in snowy-ville. More about that as it comes.

Still have packages to send, gifts to buy, stockings to fill and hang and make cookies, gingerbread house - candy to buy and set out. Pictures? Yeah, right! I have a scrapbook to complete for the Great-Grandma in Washington State. More pictures for the Gma Chicken...what to do...I need more time. Getting sick throws all schedules off kilter.

And now - I find I am out of coffee. Oh bother!

I have noticed that a few people considered friends are pulling away from us now that we are moving. One person in particular. Not that I can blame her but it is really soon. I don't think I saw any of this when we moved from MT just because we really didn't have many friends we hung around with.

The days are now warmer and muggy and black clouds everywhere. Strangely eerie weather. Especially for December.

Dh runs off to Maine again for phase Two next week.

Report cards are due via the FSP Homeschool program at church although they are NOT required via the county - for homeschoolers anyway. Go figure...

I am fat as is the Dh and we are going to eat better - forget this New Year's Resolution stuff - we're doing it now...

Goldfish crackers are great for Kindergarten math...that's my tip o' the day.

see ya...

It's Friday...again

I was going to post about a thought I have been having over the last few weeks regarding a situation a decade old where the MCPD failed miserably and the cops made a lasting and negative impression on me...

But this is FRIDAY! And I have better things to do.

Have a great weekend peoples...

Few days

and I am still here just busy and such.

Last night the Dh and I had our weekly 'date night' out. This time we went to Joe's Crab Shack in the Rio shopping area. It was nice and loaded with lots of seafood. Dh was a little sickie and didn't do well in the early hours of the morning. High fever didn't help the already lacking in sleep - he woke several times and woke me as well.

I said that I wouldn't be able to drive him to the metro at 6am if I didn't sleep - as I would have the kids and there was a snow advisory in effect. He opted to take a taxi from home. That was better I think.

Dh is now in Missoula, MT for 4 days - all the snow here doesn't matter a hill o' beans to him as he has his own bunch to deal with. He's having dinner with the SIL and her family in Msla tonight. Should be nice I think.

Back to the Date Night thing - its become a weekly outing for us since our neighbors can watch the kids. We in turn watch their kids anytime for them. I can't tel you the relief it is and how wonderful it is to have a date again. Been a long time.

There is 4 inches of snow here now. Alpha is cancelled for tonight so we are in for the night.

Someone Freecycled a brand new Roomba - I got it and can't tell you how much I love it. It makes it so much easier to maintain these hardwood floors...I recommend. But not for homes with a lot of pet hair or area rugs. It get hung up on the rugs. Not enough suction for pet hair. But still works awesome for me!
